Some unemployment rates in the area, including Williams County’s, experienced a significant seasonal spike last month. Statewide, unemployment for June 2017 was at 5.3 percent. In Williams County, the rate for June was 4.2, a noticeable spike from 3.3 percent in May and April. Roughly, 18,600 of Williams County’s 19,400-person workforce were employed in June. Over in Henry County, it’s 5.1 percent, up from 4.1 in May and 4.7 percent in April. Taking a look at Defiance County, unemployment is at 5.1 percent, up from 4.2 percent in May. Fulton County’s rate is at 4.6 percent, up from 3.7 percent two months ago.
