The National Weather Service in North Webster confirms two tornadoes hit Angola during Saturday’s storms. A damage survey team visited an area south of Angola Sunday afternoon. They confirmed an EF-1 and EF-0 touched down south of Angola and north of Pleasant Lake. The first tornado had peak wind speeds of 80 miles per hour and a path approximately 200 yards wide. It first touched down in a field west of County Road 150 West and north of West Waymire Road. The second tornado, an EF-1, was seen near County Road 150 West and West 175 South and then lifted near South Kankamp Road and Shadow Lake Drive. That tornado caused widespread tree damage. It also caused minor roof damage to a number of structures.
