Lost out-of-state hunter sees the light…literally

With hunting season in full swing it can be a frightening experience for a hunter when they get lost in the woods. But as the saying goes, necessity is the mother of invention. When the Pioneer Fire Department reported a hunter got lost Tuesday evening at the Lake La Su An Wildlife Area, first responders had a novel idea how to help him. Around 7:20 the Pioneer Fire Department answered a call along with Williams County Sheriff’s deputies to assist an out-of-state hunter who called 911 and reported himself lost somewhere between County Road R and County Road S. Pioneer Fire Chief Denny Fackler reported a sheriff’s deputy blasted his siren a couple times and shined his spotlight on a big tree to guide him out…it worked.
