A Marion man is taken into custody…after a crash kills an Indiana State trooper, on Friday. The suspect driver involved in this incident, Terry Sands…was taken into custody and is now held in the DeKalb County Jail on a preliminary charge of Resisting Law Enforcement Causing Death to a Law Enforcement Officer. Sands is accused of hitting and killing Master Trooper James Bailey…while fleeing from officers on I-69 near Auburn. Trooper Bailey was attempting to deploy stop sticks when Sands hit him, officials say. On Saturday, Bailey’s squad car was placed outside the Indiana State Police Fort Wayne post. It turned into a memorial for the late trooper. The investigation continues.
