Bryan City Schools students got to take their masks off seven days ago…and as of Friday afternoon…the district has not seen any new positive COVID-19 cases. The district website shows 16 students are in quarantine from household contact with the virus but no new cases among staff or students. Bryan Schools started its mask mandate on Sept. 1st…after 38 students had tested positive since the beginning of school. On Oct. 23, one day after the school dropped its mask mandate, the Ohio Department of Health also changed its quarantine guidelines. Masks are still required on school transportation until January 2022, as required by the CDC. The Williams County Health Department reported that, as of Thursday, there have been 3,166 confirmed COVID cases and another 2,216 possible cases, with 4,757 presumed recoveries and 88 deaths since the pandemic started.
