The longtime chief of the Auburn Police Department resigns, amid an ongoing criminal investigation. Chief, Martin McCoy submitted his paperwork during Thursday’s Board of Public Works meeting. McCoy has led the force for 20 years. He says his resignation is in response to an incident involving evidence stolen from the police department’s evidence room. Indiana State Police confirms there is an active criminal investigation that has been ongoing since late 2019. No specific details have been released.
