The Ohio State Highway Patrol is reporting 11 deaths on Ohio roadways over the Memorial Day weekend. This is a decrease compared to recent years, as 16 fatalities occurred in 2015 and 13 occurred in 2014. Four of this year’s fatalities were motorcyclists, and two were pedestrians. In Williams County there were 260 stops and 476 in Defiance. Overall The Patrol made 734 OVI arrests and 7,142 citations for safety belt violations. The four-day reporting period began Friday, May 27 and ran through Monday, May 30.
