Defiance High School’s National Honor Society members are not taking Martin Luther King, Jr. Day off on Monday. Instead, students have created a long list of projects where individuals can volunteer as a tribute to the fallen civil rights leader. The film “Selma” will be shown at the Defiance Library with a presentation about the historical significance of the march. Volunteers are needed at 4:30 p.m. Or folks can put care packages together for the troops at Fairlawn Haven in Archbold from 2 to 4 p.m. One group will clean the Defiance County Senior Center from 1 to 4 pm, and the YMCA from 1 to 3. If you want to participate in any of the events, call the High School today.
