Gary Mohre…the interim Williams County sheriff…files paperwork with the county elections office to run as a write-in candidate for the office in the Nov. 5 general election. Mohre was appointed interim sheriff on March 18. Prior to that he served as police chief of Blakeslee for almost 30 years. He says he has gotten so much support, that he wants to continue to serve. Mohre’s filing comes after the Williams County Republican Party tabbed Tom Kochert…winner of the April 28 GOP sheriff’s primary race…as the new sheriff, to serve at least until the Nov. 5 election.
