Montpelier man arrested Thursday for creating hospital disturbance

A Montpelier man was arrested Thursday afternoon inside the Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers-Montpelier emergency room. 46 year old Jason Crist of S. Platt St., Montpelier, is facing charges of disorderly conduct and inducing panic. Police responded to an agency assist request from hospital staff at 4:08 p.m. when Crist was reportedly being uncooperative and refusing to listen. Montpelier Police Chief Dan McGee reports Crist started making a big disturbance and throwing hospital property. One thrown item struck a fire-suppression sensor in the ceiling and set off alarms throughout the building. Crist is being held in the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio in Stryker.
