Montpelier man facing murder charges

A Mont­pe­lier man will be in Williams County Com­mon Pleas Court today on mur­der charges. 22 year-old Bradly Gilbert is fac­ing charges includ­ing aggra­vated mur­der, kid­nap­ping, petty theft, grand theft auto and aggra­vated rob­bery in the death of Jonathan Hofner of Wauseon. The 28 year-old was found dead just off the St. Joseph River trail in Mont­pe­lier. Pros­e­cu­tor Kather­ine Zart­man said in a news con­fer­ence Wednes­day that Hofner died on Octo­ber 10th. His body was found 15 days later. Gilbert is in the Cor­rec­tions Cen­ter of North­west Ohio with a $2 mil­lion bond. He’ll appear Thurs­day in a video arraignment.
