The Montpelier Council gave a first reading to the village’s $18 million dollar 2020 appropriations budget. Officials told the panel the village historically overestimates its expenses and underestimates its revenues, and expects the final 2020 numbers to show the village in the black, similar to this year. They added, this year to date, the town has collected about $1.3 million in revenues over expenses.
