Motorcycle Crash Fatal For Defiance Man

The Ohio High­way Patrol says a Defi­ance man was killed Tues­day evening in a two-vehicle crash.

Police report that 58 year old Gary Say­lor was pro­nounced dead at the scene on Ohio 15, south of Schick Road.

Accord­ing to the High­way Patrol, a vehi­cle dri­ven by 18 year old Brit­tany Bird was north­bound, when Bird ran off the right side of the road­way, then over cor­rected, crossed the cen­ter line, and then col­lided head-on with a motor­cy­cle rid­den by Say­lor. Bird’s vehi­cle came to rest in a ditch. The motor­cy­cle came to rest par­tially on the road­way.

Bird was wear­ing a seat belt, and was not hurt. Troop­ers say Say­lor was not wear­ing a hel­met.

The crash remains under inves­ti­ga­tion today.
