National Distracted Driving Awareness Month in April.

During National Distracted Driving Awareness Month in April, the Defiance County Safe Communities Coalition will join the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the U.S. Department of Transportation and law enforcement organizations nationwide to remind drivers of a crucial safety message: Put the phone away or pay and keep your eyes forward. Avoid driving while distracted. Law enforcement organizations across the country will participate in heightened enforcement actions aimed at distracted driving infractions from April 9-13, 2026. The campaign draws attention to the risks and legal ramifications of using a portable device or texting while operating a vehicle.
