A new hog farm is approved for Williams County by the Ohio Department of Agriculture. Planson Pork is the new operators at the farm on County Road 22, in Springfield. Concerns were expressed about groundwater issues, odor and insects, manure storage and land applications. The approval can be appealed within 30 days. It comes less than a month after approval of the Brown Swine Farm, along Defiance-Williams County Line Road, just east of County Road 16.
