In 2019, for the second straight year, the total number of incidents the Bryan Fire Department responded to…increased. In fact, the department’s total number of calls was the highest it’s been in more than a decade. Officials say crews were called to 491 total incidents in 2019, up from 451 in 2018 and 405 in 2017. Of that number, 60 were actual fires, up from 51 in 2018. Property value lost, due to fires, was also up. The average response time for incidents within the city was 6.8 minutes, up from 5.7 minutes in 2018.
