New Plan to Give Toiletries to Needy

The United Way board green lighted a new ini­tia­tive called the We Care Cab­i­net. United Way is part­ner­ing with area food pantries to add toi­letry and per­sonal care items to food pack­ages, rea­son­ing that these are things that some­times peo­ple might skip eat­ing to acquire. The United Way spent 25 hun­dred dol­lars to stock­pile the startup sup­ply of toi­let paper, bath soap, laun­dry deter­gent, deodor­ant, and tooth­paste, tooth­brushes and sham­poo. The food pantries will be able to draw from this sup­ply and they will work to get oth­ers to donate more.
