New student scholarship fund in memory of the family of longtime law enforcement officer and former Defiance High School athlete.

There are plans to establish a new student scholarship fund in memory of the family of a longtime law enforcement officer and former Defiance High School athlete. The recipient of the Harrow Family Scholarship Fund would be a senior at DHS who intends to pursue a career in law enforcement. Tim Brown, Dave Harrow’s high school wrestling teammate at DHS more than 50 years ago, was the driving force behind the concept. Harrow, a wrestler who won a state championship in 1971 before becoming the sheriff of Paulding County in 1993, was a senior when Brown was a freshman, but the two remained in contact. Last year, Dave died.
