New York man facing felony drug charges

A man is facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized 263 pounds of marijuana, valued at approximately $596,484.00 following a traffic stop in Wood County. On Monday, around 12:30 p.m., troopers stopped a rented 2016 Chevrolet Suburban, with California registration, for driving in marked lane violation on Interstate 80, near milepost 67. A probable cause search revealed the contraband. The driver, identified as 27 year old Michael E. Russo of Port Chester, N.Y., was incarcerated in the Wood County Jail. Russo was charged with possession and trafficking in drugs and is facing up to 16 years in prison and up to a $30,000 fine.
