Northwest Ohio Housing Coalition releases results of its annual point-in-time homeless count

The Northwest Ohio Housing Coalition has released the results of its annual point-in-time homeless count. During the count held Jan. 24, there were 113 individuals in the six-county area that were identified as homeless. Of those reported, there were 17 families with 27 children. The Northwest Ohio Housing Coalition and volunteers conducted the count. Counts were conducted throughout the state by various housing coalitions. The point-in-time count aims at giving a realistic count of the number of homeless individuals (those living in shelters, limited transitional housing program or unsheltered) on a given day. The local homeless count found individuals in the following counties: Defiance, 26; Fulton, 10; Henry, 16; Paulding, 6; Williams, 25; and Van Wert, 30.
