Ohio Department of Agriculture has extended the spotted lanternfly quarantine.

In an effort to control the invasive species, the Ohio Department of Agriculture has extended the spotted lanternfly quarantine. The ODA placed the spotted lanternfly under a statewide quarantine on Tuesday. Previously, 18 counties in the state were under quarantine. Products such as trees and nursery stock cannot be transported outside of Ohio due to the quarantine unless a compliance agreement, permit, or inspection certificate is obtained. Manufacturers who send those goods to unregulated regions are required to verify their inventory and provide a certificate attesting to the product’s lack of spotted lanternflies.
