The Ohio State Highway Patrol and The Ohio Department of Transportation continue their safety initiative to bring awareness to the high number of traffic deaths. The Bryan Times reports as of Aug. 8, Ohio has recorded 638 traffic deaths in 2016. This is a 2.5 percent increase compared to 2015. This week, Ohio will focus on preventing motorcycle crashes. So far this year, there have been 91 motorcycle-related traffic deaths across the state. This is the highest total recorded (through July) since 2012.
