Ohio Supreme Court removes Sandusky County Common Pleas Judge from office.

The Ohio Supreme Court promptly removed Sandusky County Common Pleas Judge Jon Ickes from judicial office without pay and prohibited him from practicing law for two years.  A recommendation from the Ohio Board of Professional Conduct that would have handed Ickes a one-year ban that was entirely stayed-that is, he could have continued on the bench as long as he didn’t commit any more misconduct-was rejected by the 5-2 ruling.
