Panther Paws program is still expanding.

Maumee City Schools’ Panther Paws program is still expanding; in January, the district added its sixth site and therapy dog. With the addition of Fiber, a facilities dog, Maumee High School now has a trained dog in each building to assist kids during the school day. The initiative started three years ago when Tricia Samuel, the district’s director of educational services, trained Maggie, a therapy dog, to make part-time visits to schools.
