Paulding Sheriff Gets Grant To Fight Drunk Driving

The Ohio Depart­ment of Pub­lic Safety’s Ohio Traf­fic Safety Office has awarded $28,222.42 in fed­eral traf­fic safety fund­ing to the Pauld­ing County Sher­iff for fed­eral fis­cal year 2016. The funds are passed through the Ohio Traf­fic Safety Office from the National High­way Traf­fic Safety Admin­is­tra­tion to sup­port the efforts of safety part­ners statewide and focus on traf­fic safety pri­or­ity areas such as restraint use, impaired dri­ving, motor­cy­cle safety and youth­ful dri­vers. The Pauld­ing County Sheriff’s Office has iden­ti­fied traf­fic areas with a higher num­ber fatal­i­ties and seri­ous traf­fic injuries in the county. With the money, the sheriff’s office will par­tic­i­pate in sev­eral blitz cam­paigns, includ­ing the Click It or Ticket It and Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over national cam­paigns all in efforts to avoid acci­dents and save lives.
