Pioneer Industrial Systems achieves statewide recognition

Pioneer Industrial Systems achieves statewide recognition for its Robotic Maintenance Vehicle. The RMV won the Ohio New Product Award…from the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers, which was presented to owner Todd Hendricks Sr. during NSPE-Ohio’s annual meeting. The award was created to recognize the benefits that come from the research and engineering of new products. Pioneer Industrial Systems started research into the RMV over three years ago. After a couple years of development, the company was able to develop a robot that can scan the road with cameras and lasers, reading what it sees for a robot to go and seal cracks. The robot fits on the back of a truck chassis. Only one person is needed to operate it through driving the truck. A second person can help by loading sealant. Production has started, with the first sale happening in the spring to a company in Indianapolis.
