Primary Starts To Materialize

Four Republicans file petitions to run in Ohio’s newly redistricted 9th Congressional District, which now includes Williams County. They four are State Sen. Theresa Gavarone…State Rep. Craig Riedel… Air Force veteran, J.R. Majewski…and Beth Deck. A fifth Republican, Madison Gilbert, who had indicated she would run in the 9th District, announced on Twitter she instead has shifted her run from the 9th to the 13th U.S. House District. The four will vie in the May 3 GOP primary for the right to take on Democrat, Marcy Kaptur, who has represented the 9th district for the past 39 years. Residents have until April 4 to register to vote in the primary.
