Public assistance fraud getting more scrutiny

For those on public assistance, the Williams County Job and Family Services representative told the county council they are cracking down on fraud investigations and trafficking. Assistance is expensive in Ohio, last year $3.3 billion dollars were spent on food assistance, cash assistance and child care subsidies. The state is using Fraud Awareness Month going on now to draw attention to the problem and educate the public. Look for the green grocery bags at participating Williams County grocery stores and pick them up for free. They have contact numbers to call to report fraud.
