Renacci Picks Running Mate

Jim Renacci, a former Republican congressman, who’s challenging Gov., DeWine in next year’s primary, picks a Christian filmmaker who made a documentary about former President Donald Trump to be his running mate. Joe Knopp of Springboro comes into the race with no political experience. Renacci, a businessman and former Wadsworth mayor who served in Congress from 2011 to 2019, says he wanted a running mate who would bring fresh ideas and hasn’t spent his life in politics. Renacci ran for governor in 2017 and was subsequently backed by Trump to challenge incumbent, Sherrod Brown. Renacci lost.
