Richard Carteyn, 82

Richard H. Carteyn, 82 years, of Hicksville, and formerly of Farmer, passed away Friday, August 22, 2014 at Hickory Creek at Hicksville.  Richard was born July 28, 1932 in Bryan, the son of the late Achiel and Myrtle (Donley) Carteyn.  Richard was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.  He was employed by Farmer Township working in the Road Maintenance Department.  He was a member of Lost Creek Missionary Church.

Surviving are his three daughters, Diane (Michael) Rippetoe of Oakwood, Ohio, Cathy (Dan) Fogle of Plymouth, Indiana and Barbara (Steve) Bohall of Shelbyville, Indiana; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; his former spouse, Eilene Dobson of Continental, Ohio; two sisters, Janet Coleman of Pikeville, Kentucky and Betty Sanders of Montpelier, Ohio.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Carteyn.

Visitation for Richard H. Carteyn will be held Wednesday, August 27, 2014 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan where funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, August 28, 2014 with Pastor Rob Bostater officiating.  Interment will follow in Lost Creek Cemetery, with Military Graveside Rites conducted by Farmer American Legion Post 137.
