Road Work On The Schedule In Defiance County

Lots of road work is planned for this year on Defi­ance County. In fact, the total of the projects that are planned not rings up to about $3.5 mil­lion worth, with the largest being the widen­ing of Har­ris Road, between Ohio 18 and Blan­chard Road. Other plans include paving Blosser Road, between The Bend Road and Ohio 15; Whet­stone Road, between County Road 24 and Defiance-Paulding County Line Road; and Breck­ler Road, from Christy Road east one-half mile. Five bridge projects are also planned at an esti­mated cost of $300,000. They include bridge replace­ments at Open­lan­der and Jeri­cho roads, on Hicksville-Edgerton Road, south of Buck­skin Road; on Hoff­man Road, east of Hill Road; on Inde­pen­dence Road, south of Behrens Road; and at Con­kle and Graber roads.

The county also will ded­i­cate $75,348 this year for crack seal­ing to help extend road pave­ment life and $95,368 for pave­ment mark­ings. In addi­tion, many county and town­ship roades will be chip/sealed this year.
