32 year old Daniel Rubio recently appeared for sentencing on a charge of tampering with evidence, according to Defiance County Prosecutor Morris Murray’s office. He was given a 12-month prison term to be served consecutively to a 36-month prison term reimposed for a community control violation on a previous conviction in Defiance County Common Pleas Court. He was given credit for 20 days served while his case was pending. On Jan. 31, at his residence on Defiance’s Harrison Avenue, Rubio destroyed a cell phone to impair it as evidence, knowing an official proceeding or investigation was in progress.
