The old West Unity village water tower is knocked down to make way for a new one. Officials say the new tower will be painted red and white and located at the site of the current tank, near the southeast corner of Church and Madison streets. To help pay for the project, the village secured $412,500 from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency water supply revolving loan fund. The old tower was 84 years old and needed more than $300,000 in repairs, so it was time to replace it.
