Scammers have reportedly texted residents to let them know they had an unpaid parking ticket. After that, the text tells the recipient to pay right away in order to keep their license from being suspended. Drivers across the country are reporting this particular phishing attempt, which aims to deceive locals into divulging financial or personal information.
Residents are reminded to not fall for this scam if you receive a text You should delete the text right away and avoid clicking any links or scanning the QR code. You will never receive a text from Ohio BMV asking for your personal information or demanding payment.
