Scary Scene On 69

Dekalb County deputies respond to a report of a suicidal male with a gun in a van at the rest park on I-69, near the northbound 324 mile marker. Officials say the man told officers he would pull the trigger…if he saw any first responders in the area. Officers then stopped all traffic on I-69 between mile markers 326 and 323. After that, the van leaves the rest park northbound on I-69 and is soon stopped. The driver is taken into custody without incident and then treated by Parkview EMS at the scene for self-inflicted injuries. A loaded pistol is found in the van. The incident is still under investigation.
