An area official is stepping down. Montpelier Clerk of Council, Becky Semer will retire at the end of January. Village council approved her retirement nearly a year ago. This week, she informed council she will also be retiring from her position on the Williams County Board of Health. The reason for leaving the board is due to the state’s rules for retirees. Officials say her absence leaves an open position that needs to be filled by a person from the village.
