Sewer Rates Problematic In West Unity

In West Unity, the sewer rates were discussed at last Thursday’s council meeting.

An audit that was done recently for 2012–13, showed a deficit spending for the village’s sewer plant operation, and council learned last week that current sewer rate income will not meet loan obligations.

Good news for the village though, was the fact that there is a scheduled rate increase in January for sewer and water, which will go a long way toward making ends meet. The finance committee will go over all the details and options at the next scheduled meeting, which is set for 6:30 p.m, July 24th.
