Sex Offender Caught

A man wanted by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Depart­ment as a non-compliant sex offender was nabbed arly Sat­ur­day morn­ing in Cold­wa­ter. 33-year-old Ronald Eugene Giles of Florida was picked up only a few hours after the Sheriff’s Depart­ment posted infor­ma­tion about Giles on their Face­book page. It was a tip from an anony­mous caller who told offi­cers whereGiles could be pos­si­bly located. Giles was wanted in Steuben County on a Level 6 felony for fail­ure to reg­is­ter as a sex or vio­lent offender. He was taken into cus­tody with­out inci­dent in Cold­wa­ter, and was last reported to be in the Branch County Jail await­ing extra­di­tion back to Steuben County.
