Sex Offender Wanted In Steuben County

A non-compliant reg­is­tered sex offender is being hunted down by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office. On Wednes­day, an arrest war­rant was issued for 62 year old Bruce W. Sev­er­ance, who is charged with a felony for fail­ure to reg­is­ter as a sex or vio­lent offender. The war­rant was issued after an inves­ti­ga­tion revealed that Sev­er­ance moved to Steuben County from Wis­con­sin and failed to reg­is­ter as sex offender at their Office. The sher­iff says the inves­ti­ga­tion also turned up the fact that Sev­er­ance had an out­stand­ing arrest war­rant in Sawyer County, Wis­con­sin for a sex offender reg­istry vio­la­tion there too. Sev­er­ance is described as a white male with gray hair, a gray beard, and blue eyes. He is six feet tall and weighs about 220 pounds.
