Millcreek-West Unity Local Schools will be buying approximately seven acres of land at a cost of $6,000 per acre for the installation of solar panels. The equipment will initially be leased by the district. It will be installed through the solar technology firm, Entrust Energy. The district is expected to save 3 cents per kilowatt-hour with the upgrade. Funds for the purchase came from the district’s general fund.
