Son arrested in dad’s shooting death

A 51-year-old Steuben County man was found dead in the road on Wednesday. The Sheriff’s Department say he was shot to death, and now police have arrested his son. 25-year-old Cody Smith is being held after he was taken into custody following a two hour manhunt. The body was found on County Road 400 North just after 12 noon and called in to 911. Smith fled the area with a woman and her small child. They were held for a short time then released without charges.
