St. Joe Fire Service Changes

The St. Joseph Township Fire Department is no more. It delivered its final ‘Out of Service’ call over emergency services airwaves. The Fort Wayne Fire Department will take over providing fire service for the township. The change is just affecting the unincorporated areas, roughly around 5,500 people. That area was receiving fire service from the township’s volunteer fire department. 70 thousand residents are already in the city limits and getting FWFD fire protection.
