A 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee stolen from a dealership north of Bryan over the weekend was recovered near Scottsboro, Alabama, Monday afternoon. An employee of Giffin Auto Sports on Ohio 15, reported the theft Monday morning. Apparently the car thief, who has been identified as 32 year old Larry Dale Brown of Henagar, Alabama didn’t know that the vehicle had an on-board GPS unit which was used to track it down near Scottsboro. Scottsboro police were contacted with the vehicle’s description. Brown was arrested and charged with eluding, felony receipt of stolen property and three counts of reckless endangerment – one count for each passenger in the vehicle during the pursuit. He remains in custody at the Jackson County Jail.
