STORM REPORT UPDATE

The National Weather Service now has released more details regarding the tornado that struck Cloverdale.

They now can confirm that an EF-2 tornado struck Paulding and Putnam counties on Sunday. The tornado had maximum wind speeds of 130 mph and cut an 8-mile path of destruction that was 440 yards wide.

The tornado caused structural damage and took out power to thousands.

Some customers still reported power outages as late as yesterday afternoon, and even after all power is restored, utilities say it may be weeks before final repairs can be accomplished.
