Stryker Officer Honored

Stryker Police Sergeant Steve Mendez was rec­og­nized Mon­day for catch­ing a pair of sus­pects in a string of break-ins. Mendez received a cer­tifi­cate of com­men­da­tion for out­stand­ing ser­vice at Monday’s coun­cil meet­ing.
Sergeant Mendez said that he and Rea­gan, his K9 part­ner, assist other police agen­cies in Williams County. He said Rea­gan is now 10 years old, and he is start­ing to train a pup to take over when Rea­gan retires.
