Teen Dies In Dirt Bike Crash

A Spencerville teenager died Sun­day after crash­ing a dirt bike at a motocross track.

16 year old Tyler Cook was rid­ing a Honda CR 250 dirt bike at the Tri-State Motor­cy­cle Club, south­west of But­ler when the crash hap­pened.

Wit­nesses say Cook went off a jump on the motocross track and crashed.

Police and medics were sent to the track about 5:30 yes­ter­day after­noon. A police offi­cer per­formed CPR on Cook at the scene, and medics took over when they arrived.

Cook was taken to DeKalb Memo­r­ial Hos­pi­tal in Auburn with reports of a bro­ken neck. He later died there.
