The Good News Is…

There was a little give and take with the latest trash collection contract in Edon. Last week, city officials announced the current trash handler, Republic Services, was going to raise its rates in October. So, the city took a look around at possible deals elsewhere. Well, they did, but there are a few caveats. Officials were able to secure a new deal with Archbold Refuse…so, the city avoids the 5 dollar and 72 cent per customer increase by Republic…but going with Archbold will require customers to still pay an additional buck and a quarter, roughly, increase from what they are paying now. A dollar and some change is still better than 5-72, so the council voted 5-0 for that.
