Unemployment rates are going down…both across the state and in northwest Ohio. The statewide unemployment rate was 8.9% in July 2020, down from 11% in June. In Williams County, the jobless rate improved from 9% in June to 7.4% in July. The rate was 3.6% in July 2019. Same thing around the four-county area, including Defiance (9.8% in June to 7.5% in July), Fulton (9.3% to 7.1%) and Henry (9.4% to 7.4%). Across the state, the industries with the greatest increases in jobs were leisure and hospitality.
