Thomas Hawkins, 65

Thomas E. Hawkins, age 65, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 4:55 A.M. on Saturday, March 23, 2013, in his home, surrounded by family after an extended illness. Mr. Hawkins was a 1965 graduate of Edgerton High School and worked for The Aro Corporation, retiring with nearly thirty-six years of service. He was a member of the Edgerton Church of Christ. An avid fisherman and sports fan, he also enjoyed watching local and Nascar racing and going to auctions. For many years he coached baseball and men’s and women’s softball. With his engaging smile, he was always quick to play a joke on people.

Thomas E. Hawkins was born on April 2, 1947, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Eldon A. and Maxine J. (Warner) Hawkins. He is survived by one sister, Sandra J. Fitzenrider, of Edgerton, four nieces, Shelly (José) Rivera, Jr., Shari (Pete) Mills and Shannon (Tracey Reliford, Jr.) Clark, all of Edgerton, and Susan (Brad) Motter, of Bryan, Ohio, and eight nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, from 1:00-7:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton. Services will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, with Pastor Byron Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.
