To The Heroes

In Bryan…a handful of local law enforcement officials and dignitaries gathered Monday to honor officers who died in the line of service. The event comes during National Police Week, which is observed each year. Local officers marched from the Bryan police station to the law enforcement memorial on the Williams County Courthouse lawn, where they then laid a wreath…in recognition of Ohio State Highway Patrolman, Frank Vasquez, a Defiance native from the Defiance Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol…who was struck by a drunk driver while serving Columbus in 2001. Ohio lost 10 officers in 2021 and two so far in 2022.
